Philippines: the Ministry of Readers

The Eudist community in the Philippines celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Dec 12, 2012) by installing two of its members to the Ministry of Reader. Fr. Ron Bagley presided at the ceremony in which Michael Dupo and Robert Leus were commissioned to this office of the Church. The Church now recognizes them as having the special task of proclaiming the Word of God, instructing people in their faith and being living witnesses of the Gospel. During the installation, they were challenged to deepen their love of the Scriptures. The entire community was present for this celebration and our four priests concelebrated the Mass. We also took the occasion to have an anticipated celebration of the birthday of Fr. Serg Kabamalan. A delicious meal and a program of song, dance and games followed.
