The following is an appeal for prayer from our Good Shepherd Sisters in Syria sent through the Good Shepherd Flash News, dated September 6, 2013:
Sr. Marie Claude, Unit leader of Lebanon/Syria sends us the following message asking for solidarity and prayer.
On behalf of all the sisters of the Good Shepherd in Lebanon and Syria, and on behalf of our people who suffer vi- olence and insecurity, I ask our sisters in the congregation to join us and pray with the Holy Father Pope Fran- cis asking God to give peace to our world and especially to our region overwhelmed by war.
United with our people and our Holy Father we say: : we want a peaceful world, we want to be men and women of peace, and we want in our society, torn apart by divisions and conflict, that peace break out! War never again! Never again war!
Peace is a precious gift, which must be promoted and protected.
