Mystery, the wondrous self-giving of Jesus Christ in his passion, death and resurrection. Water in the Jewish and the Ancient Near East cultures symbolizes both life and death. Jesus, going down into the waters, prefigures his own passion and death. Rising from the waters, he also portends his glorious resurrection.

By embracing all that lead to the fulfillment of his mission, Jesus showed us the path by which we can follow him. That's the path of living fully our life particularly our own little experiences of passion, death and resurrection with Jesus Christ accompanying us. Therefore, we walk the way with faith and hope that it can only lead to the fullness of our communion with God.

Prayer

Lord Jesus Christ, Light of the world, may our daily experiences of pain, falling and rising in our journey be united with yours so that our lives may be like open arms embracing the salvation you have won for us. Amen.
