Priests' Day at St. Bridget College

On August 19, 2014, feast of our father and founder, St. John Eudes, was a memorable day indeed! The two communities; Eudist scholastics and the Special Time of Eudist Formation brothers went to St. Bridget College in Batangas City. With the invitation of the Good Shepherd sisters in their institutions’ celebration of the “Priests’ Day”, we were asked to share our vocation stories and promote the relevance and gratitude to our priests.

As early as 5AM, under a three car convoy, we traveled two hours to our destination. We were welcomed graciously and full of smiles from the administration, faculty and students of St. Bridget. The Holy Eucharist was presided by Msgr. Alfred Madlangbayan of Taal, Batangas. Our Eudist priests, Frs. Ron, Ed, Serg, Joe, and Bob concelebrated with other religious and diocesan clergy.

After the Mass, we have a simple breakfast at the Grade School Library, after which we waited for the cue from the respective faculty members who guided us to our respective room and speaking assignments.

“It was fun and inspiring to see how the youth gleamed with their eyes and attentive ears as they listen attentively and ask questions as I share my not-so-perfect-vocation story,” one Eudist brother shared. From the most basic questions on vocation discernment to the heart-warming question such as, “Did you fell in love even if you want to be a priest?” and “Are seminarians allowed to have girlfriends?”

To our Bridgetine family and Good Shepherd Sisters, thank you for the love and gifts!

Vive Jesus et Marie!
